Evening meet 210623
11 of us arrived at The Bell Inn at Chittlehampton on Wednesday evening for our June meet, it was a very sunny evening , a big change from earlier in the day when I got absolutely soaked riding back home from the cabin. The rain does seem to have been very localised as Nick had seen no rain all day as was also the case in Exeter.
As usual all manner of issues were discussed in a very busy pub atmosphere where loads of vehicles were vainly looking for a parking place, we were lucky that two outside tables had been procured by our first arrivals where we had sight of the mayhem of vehicles trying to park and pass each other including two vehicles coming into mirror contact quite noisily. These evening meets are always very enjoyable and I would encourage anyone to come out to them, the next one is on July 25th at the Grampus Lee. Now our next ride is from Jonesy’s cafe in Winkleigh for one of Ian’s runs around west Devon.

Club night 150623
I hope readers get some idea from these photos of the very enjoyable skittles club night which took place last evening. 8 members and 2 guests worked their way through 6 games which resulted in Chris’s team winning and Louise being declared the highest scorer. 5 members rode to the event on a dry but initially threatening night, wearing very casual cooler clothing under the riding gear.
Our next event is the evening ride out to The Bell Inn Chittlehampton next Wednesday for 6.30pm.

West Devon borders run 110623
A cross border agreement was duly signed before 6 of us met with the jam-on-first section ( Cornwall ), for this run. With apologies to John Lennon, around 20 machines started from Strawberry fields, Lifton, very ably led by Dave and Diane who took us on a lovely tour of the lesser known ancient lanes around the Lydford Gorge area. We enjoyed a Cornish pasty lunch at Roadford lake before following some faster roads to finish near Hatherleigh, with fine views towards Dartmoor. Many thanks to Dave and Diane for putting together a great , well prepared run.
Skittles are on the menu on Thursdays club night, bring your partner, and next Wednesday evening we have a meet at The Bell in Chittlehanpton from 6.30 pm.
Thanks to John who sent me the photos and write up as I was not free for this run.
South Molton vintage rally weekend
For those who are not in the facebook loop, I have taken Andy’s post which happened at the South Molton vintage rally, ( whilst I was in Northumbria ).
We had a stand at the rally, and lovely weather both days. We met existing members and prospective members, we had a variety of bikes on display from a 1928 Sunbeam to a 90’s BMW. It was all very enjoyable and we will return next year.
